Writing A Quadratic Function

    Section 2.1
    Question 40

    The vertex is (2, 3) = (h, k).
    This means I need to write the parabola in standard form: f(x) = a(x - h)^2 + k.

    The point given is (0, 2).
    This mean f(0) = 2.

    f(x) = a(x - 2)^2 + 3

    2 = a(0 - 2)^2 + 3

    2 = a(-2)^2 + 3

    2 = 4a + 3

    2 - 3 = 4a

    -1 = 4a

    -1/4 = a

    f(x) = -(1/4)(x - 2)^2 + 3

    Yes?
