    Question 44

    Use synthetic division to divide.

    (3x^3 - 4x^2 + 5)/(x - 3/2)

    Show steps. Thanks.

    Question 44

    Use synthetic division to divide.

    (3x^3 - 4x^2 + 5)/(x - 3/2)

    ..........(3x^2 +(1/2) x+3/4
    (x - 3/2)| 3x^3 - 4x^2 +0*x+ 5
    ..............3x^3-(9/2)x^2.........................subtract
    ................... (1/2) x^2.........bring down next term
    ....................(1/2) x^2+0*x
    ....................(1/2) x^2-(3/4)x.......................subtract
    ....................................(3/4) x........bring down next term
    .........................................(3/4) x+5
    .........................................(3/4) x-9/8
    ................................................... 49/8->reminder

    so, 3 x^3 - 4x^2 + 5 = ((3x^2 + x/2 + 3/4))×(x - 3/2) + 49/8

    I know synthetic division. I wanted to know what to do when the divisor is x minus a fraction. I got it now. Same procedure.
