    Questions 29 & 30

Find each function value, if possible.

    See attachment.

    Question 29

    For (a), use 2x + 1.

    f(-1) = 2(-1) + 1

    f(-1) = -1 + 1 or 0.

    For (b), use 2x + 2.

    f(0) = 2(0) + 2 or 2.

    For (c), use 2x + 2.

    f(2) = 2(2) + 2

    f(2) = 4 + 2

    f(2) = 6

    Question 30

    For (a), use -3x - 3.

    f(-2) = -3(-2) - 3

    f(-2) = 6 - 3 or 3

    For (b), use x^2 + 2x - 1.

    f(-1) = (-1)^2 + 2(-2) - 1

    f(-1) = 1 - 4 - 1

    f(-1) = -4

    For (c), use x^2 + 2x - 1.

    f(1) = (1)^2 + 2(1) - 1

    f(1) = 1 + 2 - 1

    f(-1) = 2

    You say?

    Question 29
    correction:
    For (a), use 2x + 1.
