    See attachment.

    Question 7.

    f(-1) = -1
    f(0) = 0
    f(-1) = -1
    f(2) = 8

    Domain = [-1, 0, -1, 2]
    Range = [-1, 0, -1, 8]

    Question 9

    f(2) = 0
    f(1) = 1
    f(3) = 2
    f(-1) = 3

    Domain = [2, 1, 3, -1]
    Range = [0, 1, 2, 3]

    You say?

    7.
    f(-1) = -1
    f(0) = 0
    f(1) = -1-> here was mistake, it should be f(1) not f(-1)
    f(2) = 8

    Domain = [-1, 0, 1, 2]
    Range = [-1, 0, -1, 8]

    9.

    Domain of the above function is all real values of 'x' for which 'y' is defined. If there is any value of 'x' for which 'y' is undefined, we have to exclude that particular value from the set of domain.

    f(2) = 0
    f(1) = ->the hole is at x = 1, means y is undefined
    f(3) = 2
    f(-1) = 3

    Domain = [2, 3, -1]
    Range = [0, 2, 3]

    I did poorly with 7 and 9. This is not good considering that I am only in Chapter 1. Like everything else, practice is needed. Not making excuses but I only have the weekend to dig a little deeper, if you will, into each thread.

    During the week it is hard to concentrate on anything much less mathematics. I work full-time. I work overnight hours. This may not mean much to a retired person but for me, it means the world to get enough sleep during the day, which means math must be placed in the back of the burner.

    Don't be sad, I know that is hard to concentrate if you work night shift. You first make sure you get enough sleep, then you will be more concentrated and your memory will be better.

    I am not sad as much as I am frustrated. I am not doing too bad as a self-study "student" but I should be able to walk through the early chapters without struggling. Remember, I can easily answer most of the questions correctly. The questions posted are the "tricky" problems.

    I don't think age has anything to do with it. In my case, it is simply lack of time.
